Open the shortcut on the desktop (which has the right icon and is simply named) The reason I had to install the extension (the first step below) was because when I went to and then going to Menu > More tools > Add to taskbar., it did add an 'app' to the Chrome App Launcher, but it used a weird blue G icon, whereas this extension used the high-res blue envelope associated with Inbox.įind Inbox in the Chrome App Launcher > right-click > App InfoĬhange the 'Open as a tab' dropdown to 'Open as window'ĬHECK 'Desktop', UNCHECK 'Pin to taskbar' (Win 10 blocks this, and when Chrome tries to pin to taskbar it screws up my pinned Chrome icon in the taskbar) The steps below are the only thing that worked for me. When I upgraded to Windows 10, it inherited the Chrome apps/pages I had added to the taskbar in Win 8, but Win 10 wouldn't allow Chrome to add new ones to the taskbar.
