Though the reveal trailer doesn’t give too much away, you can expect the same over-the-top gameplay the series is known for when the reboot launches next year. Now that the developers are able to speak directly to the fans via Twitter, it appears a lot of the initial anger has died down. The original characters have been reimagined, the story establishes the beginning of the group, and the gang’s colour has temporarily switched from purple to blue. Officially unveiled at Gamescom 2021, the rebooted Saints Row was initially received poorly by longtime fans for deviating from the source material. It’s been six years since Saints Row: Gat out of Hell launched, and the developers feel like now is the perfect time to reboot the series. The open-world games have escalated the series’ silliness with every release, going from shootouts with rival gangs, fighting off an alien invasion, and even escaping the fiery clutches of Hell.
